The 11th SNAICC National Conference will be held at the Brisbane Convention & Entertainment Centre in Meanjin/Brisbane from 7-9 October 2025.
The SNAICC’25 theme is Our Culture. Keep it Strong. We Belong, highlighting the strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.
The SNAICC National Conference is one of the largest Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander focused conferences in the country and this year we are expecting over 2000 delegates from more than 400 organisations.
The conference gives Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous organisations, policy makers, researchers, educators, front line support workers, government representatives and students the opportunity to gather and share knowledge and experience while renewing commitment to building systems and practices that support children and families to thrive.
It is a clear demonstration of the community’s engagement with the conference that we received almost 200 abstract submissions this year for the 84 breakout sessions that will be on offer this year. Along with compelling keynote speakers, cultural performances by both children and renowned performers, you will find culture, community and conversation woven through every part of your three-day experience.
Here’s a sneak peek of some of the presenters and performers in the 2025 program:
- Dr Katrina Wruck, 2025 Young Australian of the Year. Dr Wruck is a proud Mabuigilaig and Goemulgal woman who has long advocated for First Nations knowledge.
- Professor Jack Beetson Professor Beetson is a Ngemba Aboriginal man from western NSW who has been actively involved in Indigenous education in Australia and internationally for over 30 years.
- Christine Anu needs no introduction as one of Australia’s most celebrated recording artists and performers, ARIA-winner, and proud Torres Strait Islander woman. Christine and her band will help us celebrate at the Gala Cocktail Party on the final night.
