SUMMARY:Australian Childhood Foundation Professional Community - Understanding the Neurobiology of Complex Trauma
DESCRIPTION:Building a framework for effective practice with children\, young people and their network of relationships\n22 & 23 May\, 10:00am to 2:00pm  Virtual Classroom  $330.00\nWhat is this training about?\n This workshop provides a foundational understanding of complex developmental trauma and the application of this knowledge framework to work across multiple contexts supporting infants\, children\, young people\, and families.  It is grounded in the most recent evidence from neuroscience. \nAbuse related trauma has a significant impact on the developing brain. It can result in children experiencing significant difficulties regulating their emotions\, adapting their behaviour and being attuned to social exchanges. This can lead to a fundamental challenge for children to experience safety and engage in relational exchanges that support them.  Integrating systems of protection\, care\, and therapeutic intervention provide traumatised children with safety\, predictability and the platform for changing their developmental trajectory. \nThe workshop explores the implications for framing trauma informed practice and provides specific and practical strategies for promoting recovery for children and young people who have experienced relationally based trauma. \n\n\n\nRegister

SUMMARY:Australian Childhood Foundation - Supporting Children and Young People to Heal from the Trauma of Family Violence
DESCRIPTION:Supporting Children and Young People to Heal from the Trauma of Family Violence\n28 May 2024  10:00 am – 02:00 pm Virtual Classroom $165.00 \nWhat is this training about?\nChildren and young people do not escape family violence unaffected.  It destabilises the foundations of their development and undermines the strengths of their relationships which can overwhelm them. Children experience family violence deep in their mind and body – they see it\, often hear it and their bodies react to it as a threat to their survival.\nThis workshop explores all of these elements and supports practitioners to work in a child focused and relationally reparative context with parents and children following experiences of family violence. \nRegister
