SUMMARY:Unpacking Resistance Training
DESCRIPTION:Online Event \nKey reasons many people choose to work in primary prevention are to build momentum and create change. We are passionate about mobilising people and community to transform power structures and attitudes that drive gender-based violence. \nHaving conversations and advocating for change with people we work with\, decision makers\, workshop participants\, parents and funders is critical to the success and momentum of change. We’re often inviting the exploration of new or challenging ideas through these conversations\, and people can often react to the topic of gender equality in different ways – from denying there is an issue\, to placating or de-prioritising the efforts for change. \nWho is this for?\nThis training is for practitioners who work in the area of gender equality or in primary prevention of family and gender-based violence.\nThe purpose of this training is to support practitioners delivering primary prevention work. This training does not focus on resistance from people using violence within early intervention or response practice contexts. \n\n\nWhat you’ll learn:\nHow to identify the different forms and levels of resistance.\nThe core principles and strategies to apply when responding to forms of resistance.\nSkills to open up dialogue and feel more confident in having challenging conversations.\nStrategies to support your wellbeing when encountering resistance.\n\n\n Register here
